This blog is to document my adventures in becoming more self sufficient. I live in the foothills/high desert of Arizona, at about 3300 feet. Our average rainfall is about 12-18 inches a year, mostly coming in late summer monsoons and mid-winter storms. We are high enough to have snow in winter and low enough to reach 100+ degrees in the summer. This is a challenging climate to garden in, especially as water is in short supply and very expensive.

Great blog, Mary. Thanks so much for the link via flylady. Love the pix! I co-write my blog with DBF. He takes most of the pix, I do most of the writing. Lots of garden stuff on there right now, mixed in with our usual craziness.
